Ipswich Last Sunday on the 19th February 2017, some of our members through the WICEN division provided safety communications for the Mount Glorious Trail Run which was held in the Brisbane Forest Park, Mount Glorious. The event started at White Cedar Picnic area to the finish line at Maiala Picnic Area. We provided operators at 4 checkpoints and the base, as well as 1 operator to transport the first aid officer from the start to finish, also a portable repeater was used. There were 162 entries and they all finished. Communications was a success and our newbies did very well. The organisers were very impressed and thanked us all for our help and look forward to our assistance next year.
On a personal note, I wish to thank the operators who assisted last weekend and I hope that they will be around for the next one.
